Currently, our Intellectual Property/Patents team is seeking a Patent & Trademark Searcher to facilitate activities related to competitor intellectual property monitoring and landscaping.
Key Responsibilites
Facilitation of landscaping and competitor risk management activities
Formulate and document a suitable patent and trademark watching strategy in collaboration with IP manager and technical staff
Implement the watching strategy (including the use of external service providers)
Prepare monthly reports for review by technical staff
Manage the distribution and return of technical staff reviews
Maintain records of upcoming deadlines related to oppositions
Assist with administrative work related to oppositions
Research and document patent-related family and status information
Help with research on general competitor intelligence
Assist with trademark prosecution and maintenance work
Key Requirements:
Degree qualified or equivalent (Science/Engineering/Technology desirable)
Familiarity with on-line searching tools, particularly Derwent World Patent Index
Basic understanding of multi-jurisdictional patent and trademark registration systems
Intermediate or advanced skills in Word, Excel, Access and Power Point
3-4 years patent industry experience
Excellent communication skills
