The Patent Department of one of the worlds iconic ICT product brands currently has a vacancy for a Patent Engineer.
The Patent Department is part of the IP & Legal Division, which comprises a highly motivated team of individuals who deal with intellectual property matter for the brand.
We looking for a motivated Engineer/Patent Engineer to take an active role in assisting with the day to day functioning of the patent department and ensuring the commercial needs of the organization are met by facilitating patent activities in line with enterprize patent objectives and HQ patent requirements.
Liaising with Engineers, Patent Attorneys and HQ IP Department, your key responsibilities will include:
Assisting in the day to day management of the patent portfolio.
Advising engineers to patentability.
Conducting patent searches, drafting patents, attending to filing of patent applications, prosecution and advising on infringement matters.
Reporting to Senior Patent Engineer.
In addition to your technical qualifications in engineering/ computer science or related discipline, you will have a strong background in computer science/electrical engineer or related discipline. A flexible, client focused approach combined with, a strong interest in intellectual property law, strong consultation, communication and organizational skills are essential.
